Doon Express derails near Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh

Jaunpur: Five coaches of the Doon Express, on its way from Howrah to Dehradun, have derailed near Koridia village about 20 km from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh.

There are some unconfirmed reports of injuries. Early reports said five bogies skid off the track at around 1.15 in the afternoon. The train was due to arrive at the Varanasi station in some time.

Relief teams have been rushed to the spot.

This is the second rail mishap in 10 days. At least 25 people were killed when the Hampi Express rammed a stationary goods train in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur on May 22.
